By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
◎ Recall the fundamentals of medication reconciliation (definition, C4-role, transitions of care).
◎ Identify CBAHI MM.5 standards (MM.5.1–5.6) governing medication reconciliation practice.
◎ Analyze gaps in traditional (manual) Med. Rec. workflows.
◎ Explain how AI is applied across the 3 core MedRec tasks: BPMH creation, discrepancy identification, discrepancy resolution.
◎ Evaluate benefits & risks of integrating AI tools within a CBAHI-accredited setting.
◎ Apply concepts through practical case scenarios.
Workshop Purpose
This interactive workshop will equip the participants with a practical understanding of medication reconciliation as a cornerstone of patient safety, bridging national accreditation requirements with emerging AI-driven solutions.
Through real clinical case scenarios, participants will explore how CBAHI standards structure the reconciliation process across transitions of care, and how artificial intelligence is reshaping best possible medication history-taking, discrepancy detection, and resolution — supporting Saudi Arabia’s commitment to safer, technology-enabled healthcare.
